Here at DallasBasketball.com, we’ll keep you updated on all the rumors, reports and trade speculation regarding the Mavs as the February 10th trading deadline approaches.
Jan 30 RAPTORS LEVERAGE PLAY FOR DRAGIC?
According to a report by Toronto Star Doug Smith on Sunday, the Raptors are receiving commercial interest in point guard Goran Dragic, 35, who was traded to Toronto last season on a signing and trading deal when Kyle Lowry decided to join the Miami Heat.
“According to multiple NBA sources, granted anonymity because nothing is finalized, the Raptors are finding great interest in a myriad of differently structured deals for the veteran point guard and will almost certainly be dealt with near the trading deadline in the NBA on February 10,” Smith writes.
Since Dragic was traded to Toronto, many had speculated that the Raptors or another team, if traded, would buy him out of his expired $19 million contract. At this point, Dragic was also expected to eventually join Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
“There were no obvious names in conversations with sources here over the weekend, but it is clear that 10 days after the deadline, General Manager Bobby Webster and President/Vice President Masai Ujiri are in the process of pursuing deals,” Smith said.
It is quite possible that Dragic can By the deadline, but this report is so vague that it leads us to believe it was just a hoist attempt from Toronto. Stay tuned to DallasBasketball.com for more updates as the trade deadline approaches.
Jan 29 Jackets Are You Looking To Join McCollum?
According to a report from Mark Stein, the January appearance of Anfernee Simons has fueled “some of the highest speculation to date in the Pacific Northwest that Trail Blazers are finally ready to dismantle the (Damian) Lillard/CJ McCollum partnership.”
Adding McCollum to the mix in Dallas would certainly be a step in the right direction to “get there” offensively. McCollum averages 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 40.5 percent from depth on 8.1 attempts per game. Here are two trade scenarios, one with two parts, to get McCollum in the Mavericks outfit.
Jan 27 KNICKS CALL MAVS; Saher Bronson?
Two members of the Mavericks’ current regular starting lineup, Jalen Bronson and Dorian Finney-Smith, have been appointed to be unrestricted off-season free agents. It looks like both players played their way to big increases.
Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report and Ian Begley of SNY appeared on a live sound room On the Halftime app to discuss the latest business conversations about the league. When asked about Galen Bronson’s pending free agency and potential commercial market, Begley stated that the Knicks “at least touched the base” with the Mavericks about Bronson.
Begley also mentioned that at least one other cast was willing to bid “north of $20 million” at free agency.

Jan 27 Can MAVS Enter John Collins’s Trading?
According to Jake Fisher of Bleacher Report, John Collins’ asking price isn’t as high as he had expected. The Atlanta Hawks are looking to pick a player in the first round and start a player in return, but there is speculation that they may score more in return.
It has already been reported in the past that Dallas was “trying to get into the mix” for Collins. It was also at a time when Miles Turner was thought to be a potential commercial target as well. However, the main concern was whether the Mavericks could of course attract the Hawks.
Jan 26 Pistons “Prince” Bronson; Can a scholarship be awarded to Dallas?
With the NBA trading deadline looming just two weeks away, the Mavs’ latest trade rumble comes from the HoopsHype Podcast featuring Michael Scotto and Yossi Gozlan.
“A lot of executives across the league expect Dorian Vinnie Smith or Jalen Bronson to be on the move by the trade deadline, as it will be difficult for Dallas to keep these players moving forward and avoid the luxury tax,” Scotto said.
“I’ve heard that Jalen Bronson has some fans in Detroit. If Dallas is able to go into the mix with Jerami Grant and get him, don’t be surprised if Brunson or Finney-Smith is involved in a business deal.”
