Profitability in all lines of business
Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, February 1, 2022 IBA (Ion Beam Applications SA), the global leader in particle accelerator technology, today provides a trading update ahead of the company’s full-year results on March 24, 2022.
The IBA will report group sales for fiscal year 21 in line with the prior year, with positive earnings and net profit at the group level and profitability across all business lines.
- High amount of orders in all areas of work
- Proton therapy has seen a sustained recovery in activity with five (nine-chamber) systems sold in Asia, Europe and the United States, compared to two systems sold the previous year
- Other accelerators had another stellar year with more than 30 systems sold, compared to 17 last year.
- The dosimetry business continued to perform well with applications being accepted in line with the previous year
- Backlog in equipment and services at a new all-time high of €1.2 billion
- A very active pipeline, particularly in the US and Asia, with continued momentum that provides great vision for 2022 and beyond
- High cash position of €130.3 million (unaudited) at the end of the year, providing the company with a solid foundation for progress on its strategic objectives
